My old buddy Francis Loftus (effectionately known as the Fat Yank) has a saying… “all anglers are liers except you and me. Now I’m beginning to wonder about you!”
I don’t have a scale on Pegasus so if someone asks the weight of a fish I give a ‘guesstimate’. As a kid I would wonder at how accurate the old fishermen could be when they guessed the weight of a fish just caught… Of course it’s a question of experience. The more fish you catch the better you become at guessing the weight. However, seldom will a fisherman be beleived if he volunteers a weight.
When I post a photo of a sea trout on Facebook or Instagram I get comments like, Wow! What a beauty! A bonnie fish! Nice one, and so on.
I have decided to run a competition in the near future… I will post a photo of a sea trout where you must guess the weight of the fish and the winner wins a trip for two persons on Pegasus. All tackle, bait, refreshments and food included. You can find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter under Judd Ruane.
Shortly after that I will run another comp with the same prize for the best comment on a photo I will post so watch this space!
In the meantime, Peter Jackson, UK, and Bernard Pelle, France, were happy men on Monday and Tuesday with some very nice sea trout on Pegasus. Photos on Facebook etc.
